Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to join its Consumer & Community Banking Technology team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and building secure, scalable, cloud-native applications using Java and modern engineering practices. This role requires strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, CI/CD, AI-assisted software development, and enterprise application architecture.

Required Skills

\n
• 10+ years of hands-on Java development experience
\n
• Experience working in Angular/React.
\n
• Strong expertise in Java 11/17/21 , Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Microservices.
\n
• Experience designing scalable, highly available, and secure enterprise applications.
\n
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs , distributed systems, and event-driven architecture.
\n
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes , Docker, and containerized application deployment.
\n
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines , DevOps, Git, Jenkins, Maven, and automated testing.
\n
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
\n
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and SDLC best practices.
\n
• Experience implementing secure coding practices and application resiliency.
\n
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar tools to improve development productivity.
\n
• Strong knowledge of cloud technologies ( AWS preferred ).
\n
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
\n
• Strong communication and technical leadership skills.
\n

Responsibilities

\n
• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale Java applications.
\n
• Build secure, scalable, and high-performance microservices using Spring Boot.
\n
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior developers.
\n
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews.
\n
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
\n
• Develop automated testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines.
\n
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes.
\n
• Promote AI-assisted engineering practices while ensuring secure, validated, and high-quality code.
\n
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, DevOps engineers, QA teams, and product owners throughout the SDLC.
\n
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and operational stability.
\n
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions.
\n
• Contribute to reusable frameworks, engineering standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n
• Experience with GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted software development tools.
\n
• AWS Solution Architect or Developer Certification.
\n
• Experience with Spring Cloud, Kafka, or messaging technologies.
\n
• Knowledge of observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or Datadog.
\n
• Experience in Banking or Financial Services.
\n
• Familiarity with OpenShift or cloud-native application platforms.
