Senior Swimwear & Resort Designer About SAME SAME is a Los Angeles-based luxury fashion label founded by Shea Marie, known for its modern femininity, elevated craftsmanship, and timeless approach to dressing. As the brand continues to grow its core Swimwear and Resort categories, we are seeking a highly skilled senior designer to own the day-to-day design and product development execution of these collections. Position Overview We are looking for a Senior Swimwear & Resort Designer to work closely with our Founder & Creative Director and RTW Design Director in developing and executing SAME's Swimwear and Resort collections. This is a hands-on senior individual-contributor role for someone who can independently manage both design and product development responsibilities across these two categories. This role is ideal for a highly creative, product-driven designer who understands the technical demands of swimwear and the elevated, lifestyle-driven nature of resort. You will take product from concept through development and production handoff, balancing strong design instincts with organization, fit knowledge, vendor communication, and follow-through. You will keep Swimwear and Resort development moving on calendar and ensure each style reflects the SAME aesthetic, fit standards, quality expectations, and commercial goals. Key Responsibilities Creative Partnership Partner with the Founder & Creative Director and Design Director to develop seasonal Swimwear and Resort collections. Translate creative direction into a cohesive, commercially relevant product that embodies the SAME aesthetic. Research trends, vintage references, swim construction, fabric innovations, silhouettes, prints, trims, and finishing techniques. Contribute original design ideas while maintaining a refined, feminine, and timeless point of view. Help evolve the Swimwear and Resort categories through thoughtful product innovation, new silhouettes, and elevated design details. Design & Collection Development Design seasonal Swimwear and Resort collections from initial concept through final product. Create sketches, CADs, technical flats, colorways, print layouts, and presentation materials. Develop seasonal color palettes, fabric direction, prints, trims, hardware, lining, and finishing details. Build balanced assortments across bikinis, one-pieces, cover-ups, dresses, sets, separates, and other resort-driven styles. Ensure consistency of fit, proportion, fabrication, color, print scale, and design language across both categories. Product Development & Production Management Own the Swimwear and Resort development calendar from design handoff through production-ready approval. Create and maintain tech packs, BOMs, development comments, sample records, and style information with accuracy and attention to detail. Lead fittings and sample reviews, providing clear comments on fit, construction, workmanship, color, print, trims, and finishing. Communicate directly with domestic and overseas factories and vendors to resolve development issues, answer design questions, and keep samples on schedule. Manage sample tracking, fabric and trim development, lab dips, strike-offs, approvals, costing follow-up, and production handoff. Ensure every style meets the brand's standards for fit, construction, quality, function, and finish before final approval. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with Production, Technical Design, Merchandising, Marketing, and Sales throughout each season. Participate in seasonal assortment planning, line reviews, and product strategy for Swimwear and Resort. Support styling, campaign development, e-commerce needs, and product storytelling when needed. Proactively manage priorities, flag risks early, and keep Swimwear and Resort timelines on track without sacrificing design quality. Qualifications 6–10+ years of women\'s Swimwear and/or Resort design experience within the luxury or contemporary market. Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional taste, swimwear expertise, proportion, fabrication, color, print, and silhouette. Extensive hands-on experience designing women\'s swimwear, with strong resort/lifestyle product experience. Expert knowledge of swimwear construction, fit, stretch fabrics, linings, elastics, trims, hardware, and garment construction. Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD development, and technical package creation. Proven experience working directly with domestic and international factories through development and production handoff. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple styles, vendors, approvals, and deadlines independently. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, solutions-oriented working style. Ability to balance creative vision with technical execution, cost awareness, commercial needs, and production realities. Ideal Candidate You are a highly skilled senior designer with exceptional taste and a deep understanding of Swimwear and Resort products. You are equally strong creatively and operationally, comfortable sketching a new silhouette, building a tech pack, leading a fitting, reviewing approvals, communicating with factories, and following product through final approval. You thrive in a fast-moving, founder-led environment where ownership, craftsmanship, and attention to detail are valued. #J-18808-Ljbffr SAME
